Hi there :).
Someone else is supposedly working on this, hopefully it will be ready for
the next release. It's slightly non-trivial, which is why it doesn't exist
already.
So I think this is a duplicate of #5. When that's done,
check it out, or if I misunderstood you, please let me know.

Well, hopefully it will land in trunk as soon as it's done anyhow, but
that and one other change I have in mind are probably the two things
that need to get done first before 0.4 (I just pushed 0.3 yesterday,
even though it's been a bit too long).
I don't have any other specifics unfortunately, but if you want to
keep taking a crack at this issue perhaps alongside totic it'd
certainly bring things closer :).
