I solved it now by using executemany instead of execute, it seems like a bug though, if pypyodbc is supposed to work the same as pyodbc.
You can close this if this is the expected or accepted behaviour.

Sorry, my bad, should have tested that before.
I made some additional tests and it fails when i try to input multiple entries.
So this works with empty and non empty strings:
VALUES (?,?,?,?,?)
and this fails with either and throws the mentioned error-message:
VALUES (?,?,?,?,?),(?,?,?,?,?)
This worked flawlessly with pyodbc. Does pypyodbc only work with executemany for bulk inserts?

For the records, development of pypyodbc basically stopped in 2017. Whatever API improvements were implemented in pyodbc since then are not reflected in pypyodbc. I've updated the project description accordingly, a few minutes ago.
