Why did you think the 'base' collection would get used in the first example? :(
It's possible some other part of the docs is out of date (still have to clean it up -- this wasn't intended for public use yet!) but this guy here should be pretty clear that only the module-level ns
or namespace
variable is what gets picked up as a custom namespace.
Since your first example doesn't attach the base
sub-collection to ns
(but rather, the other way around) that's why you saw what you did.
If you did see my link previously then I'd totally love suggestions about how to make it clearer :)
