Hmm... well, I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask AppVeyor about longer build times. And if that's a no-go, migrate over to GitHub actions. Splitting jobs does sound like jumping through hoops, and should be avoided.
But if we're going to migrate Windows CI to GitHub actions, should we perhaps think about doing the same for linux? Then we'd have a unified CI, same as in main repository (with all pros and cons that we're seeing there...).

We've now got 90 minutes for AppVeyor jobs so that's back to normal. The situation with Travis hasn't changed though. It might be better if @Legorooj looks at it because I don't seem to have all the permissions. But switching to Github shouldn't be difficult so there's no point wasting much time on Travis.

I'm good with switching to GitHub Actions for both Windows & Linux CI. Having it unified is simpler imo, honestly.
