Related.

With the same example from above, but without the E1 ignore:

$ pep8 locale_example.py

Expected:

locale_example.py:3:15: E241 multiple spaces after ':'
locale_example.py:4:17: E241 multiple spaces after ':'

Got:

(nothing)

It is expected that E241 and E242 are skipped with the default configuration.
See issue #4 for the rationale:
#4

I rewrite the check to yield successive errors.
(It might be needlessly verbose for human, even if I understand the requirement for automated tools).

Should the "--first" or "--repeat" options influence this behavior? It seems to me that the current behavior (of only showing the first error) should only occur if "--first" is used.

Thanks

The --repeat is now deprecated.

The behavior of --first is to yield only the first error for each code, globally. It means that the error will not be reported any more in this file and other files which are examined in the same run.

The current behavior of E241/E242 is to report only the first error on a logical line (which is enough to fix it manually), however it can report the error later in the same file (except if --first is added).
