Atmosphere Framework support about primus HOT 3 CLOSED

I'm not sure if something like support for the Atmosphere framework should be incorporated in to Primus or be added as extension/plugin on top of primus. It would be interesting to see if we can get it implemented but I don't know if I personally want to put that much effort in to it as it's not one of the core goals of this framework.

I agree Primus should not be integrated in Atmosphere or vise versa. What I mean is that Primus (more accurately, its client-side) can be abstraction layer above Atmosphere javascript client. So we could develope realtime web applications with Primus.js on frontend and Atmosphere Framework (with Java) on backend.

The Primus client is to tightly integrated with the backends to support this. But it's not impossible. Theoretically, you could write a Primus plugin that handles all the atmosphere logic, but this requires such an engineering effort that it wouldn't be worth it.

I'm going to close this bug. If anyone ever wants to take a stab at this, i'm accepting pull requests on this as long they are reasonable changes ;). If it can be solved as a plugin of primus that would be even better.
