I cannot reproduce the issue on my Mac. The version property in the easystarjs package.json is properly formatted, and is compatible with semver.
Could you post the contents of this file C:\Users\jstaab\Dropbox\programming\node\tetroggle-desktop\npm-debug.log ?
I also recently published 0.1.6. Could you try again, and let me know if you're still seeing the same issue ?

I'm beginning to think this is a problem with my installation of npm though, since I get the same thing with other npm commands. If so, sorry about the irrelevant issue; I'm a pretty new noder and don't quite know what to do with their stack traces.

What does the package.json look like for your project itself ?

facepalm. Yep, it was my project number that was throwing everything off. Thanks for the tip; might've taken me forever to track that down. You can close this issue. Burn it if you like.
