Pietro de Mello's Projects
Saludos! Este es el repositorio para nuestro primer curso de Data Carpentry para estudiantes de la República Dominicana.
A bunch of shell, R and awk scripts that I used to: i) assemble a skin transcriptome of a small Caribbean anole; and ii) perform differential expression and gene set enrichment analysis to identify candidate genes for color and color-pattern in squamate reptiles.
No consensus as of yet has been reached for which genome assembler is 'the' best. As a matter of fact, there probably isn't, with different assemblers performing better for specific data sets or objectives. Here I perform de novo assemblies using multiple algorithms as well as reference based assembly of two Anolis distichus females, and compare their outputs.
Some hodge podge scripts for dealing with genome stuff
