From my foreign understanding, it seems the actual variant of Chinese used here should be Mandarin in Simplified Script. The precise language tag would be zh_Hans apparently. Currently the JSON file is still just called zh.json, which I believe is OK for now but might be renamed to zh_Hans.json at some point.
