toJSON method on the XML class about dart-petitparser HOT 4 CLOSED

There is no single canonical way to transform XML to JSON. That's why I would like to avoid having a toJSON() method in the XML nodes. Externally walking over the XML tree and generating some JSON should be possible with the current implementation. Let me know if something else (such as visitors, more iterators) would make this even easier.

OK, thanks, there are several ways to do this as you probably know (Parker, BadgerFish etc etc), its a bit of a minefield in fact. I think I'll start looking at a putting a separate package together to do this, allowing users to chose their convention, using petitparser as the XML Feed translator into the node tree.

Just to round this off I've published an xml2json package, petitparser doing the XML parsing of course, gives Parker, Badgerfish and GData for the moment. Guess this can be closed now I guess.
