Thanks for the codes and the resolved issue above.
Below is a reminder/note which may be useful if you got a file (name) issue when running makeNetCDF_file() in a windows environment, using R version 3.5.0:
The makeNetCDF_file() is supposed to generate the (say rainfall) 'precip.YYYYMMDD.grid.Z' file and unzips it. If you did not find the unzipped file (i.e., only the zipped file exists in the folder in which you want to build the netCDF files) and you got an error like 'no such file or directory', it could be raised by the program '7zip'. Specifically, the '7zip' probably did not do the job as expected, e.g., the '7zip' executable is not in the %PATH% variable. Please try the following steps to add it in.
- Click 'Search Windows', search 'Edit environmental variables for your account' and click it.
- In the 'User variables', select the 'Path', and click 'Edit...'
- In the 'Edit environmental variable', click 'New', paste the path to the 7zip application folder, and click OK.
- Open 'Command Prompt', and enter the command '7z'. You can see the output for usage, such as the version, descriptions of commands, etc.

Hope this helps.
