@ahorn I think this comparison is not so appropriate because wabt is just an external toolkit, not a Golang framework and doesn't insert custom contexts.

Hi @vmesel, thanks! Am I understanding correctly: in your benchmarks, you evaluate WASM programs that import modules that wabt cannot handle?

You could make the wabt interpreter work, though you'd have to write some C++ code to provide the imported modules you want. There's not really an examples of this aside from the spectest-interp tool which only provides the "spectest" module required to run the WebAssembly spec tests.

The wabt interpreter took much longer than the other tested interpreters when executing our tests so we excluded it.

I fixed a significant slowdown here that seemed to improve my local benchmarks considerably. There are still plenty of places to improve wabt interpreter performance, but I'd guess that would fix the biggest differences between other interpreters.
