Thanks for the reproduction. That helps. I think this is a subtle difference between spring framework 5 and 6 somehow. Not sure what yet though.
With Spring Content 2.8.0 (Spring Framework 5) the s3 store factory bean (the factory bean that create the store proxy and the bean that it is failing to instantiate) is marked as autowired and it can satisfy the ApplicationContext argument.
For some reason - not yet identified - when using Spring Content 3 (Spring Framework 6) that same bean is not marked as autowired and therefore fails. If I use the debugger to set it as autowired then the test passes.
I'll investigate further.

In our project we are facing the same problem with spring-content-azure and the AzureStorageFactoryBean (and also the S3StoreFactoryBean).
The interesting thing is, that the application itself starts up and working with the storage is fine. The problem only occurs with our tests.
But during our debugging we also saw, that the bean is not marked as autowired and therefore the startup fails.
