There is no issue exist as this and proper use shows well how to use this script.
You are trying to use normal python script within python3. For python3, another script exist on the repo called "maps_api_scanner_python3.py" so either command works perfectly on below:
python maps_api_scanner.py
python3 maps_api_scanner_python3.py
from gmapsapiscanner.
