Analyzing the battery report, yeah, there is a huge decrease once a period of sustained playback started, but only on the order of ~19% battery use, not 61%. I can only assume this is the fault of ExoPlayer generally being more battery intensive during background playback, which has a varying impact depending on the device. Remedying this requires enabling audio offload, which then disables features like ReplayGain and is also hugely unreliable. Sorry.
