Don't think this was worth an issue, but simple question, why having capitalized and camed-cased RegisterDataDep
?
from datadeps.jl.
It's true that that is inconsistent with standard practice for function names.
I think of it as more of a constructor than a function. But technically it isn't, and in many ways practically it isn't.
I will think about deprecating it to register_datadep
, or just register
. Maybe make a similar datadep constructor so it is register(::AbstractDataDep)
that might be cleanest.
from datadeps.jl.
I like the register(::AbstractDataDep)
. Building a Dep
struct and then registering it makes it clear at what moment we are just defining and at what moment we act on the filesystem (creating directories, ...)
from datadeps.jl.
Registering a datadep doesn't touch the filesystem. Accessing it does. (Esp the first time)
from datadeps.jl.
ok my bad I thought the information was saved, I just tested registering, restarting julia and calling, doesn't work, as expected.
from datadeps.jl.
Ah, no. What you want to do is create a file containing the registration block, and then include
that file.
