We are somewhat lacking in examples for the OSQP R interface at present. However, you might find the unit test helpful : https://github.com/oxfordcontrol/osqp-r/tree/master/tests/testthat
I will leave this open with a view to making some more accessible examples.

Are you making A
as dense or sparse? It is better in general to use sparse matrices. How large is it? How many nonzeros? Have you considered using other faster languages? I suggest you to use the forum for this kind of questions.
