Hi,
we're currently updating our documentation to reflect the fact that we've moved everything from bitbucket to github (the most up-to-date version is now on github).
We've encountered this specific problem (warnings about missing default packages) very recently, changeset dddbf94 fixed it for us. Could you please check if your build includes this changeset?
If you only want to use FastR, and are not interested in building it yourself, you can also download pre-built binaries from OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oracle-labs/program-languages/overview/index-2301583.html). These are usually updated once a month.
