Nice idea. This would for sure increase readability. We'll have a look at it.

Implemented in 231e04f for zypper 1.8.3

Hi Michael,
thanks for implementing this so quickly!) I wanted to give it a go, but compilation fails with:
zypper/src/Zypper.cc:786:22: error: ‘class zypp::Target’ has no member named ‘reload’
231e04f, openSUSE 12.1/12.2 and following the instructions at en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Zypper_development
Greetings
from zypper.
You'd also need the latest https://github.com/openSUSE/libzypp. Beware that the master
branch is for openSUSE-Factory
and it's libzypp has version 12.x (while openSUSE-12.2 uses libzypp-11.x). Currently it would be possible to use libzypp-12.x on an openSUSE-12.2 system, but this may change as development goes on. Similar is true for zypper-1.7.x on openSUSE-12.2 vs. -1.8.x on openSUSE-Factory.
The codebase for openSUSE-12.2
is maintained in gits SuSE-Code-12_2-Branch
. Packages based on this branch are maintained at obs://build.opensuse.org/zypp::Code12_2-Branch
. The corresponding repo is http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/zypp:/Code12_2-Branch/openSUSE_12.2/. Note that this is a developer repo, it does not contain official updates.
I just backported it to SuSE-Code-12_2-Branch
. You can use this branch to compile zypper on 12.2, or wait for a package to appear at download.opensuse.org.
