Do you want the list of the benzimidazole I made? I found an excel file on my computer with all my compounds. I might try to find a way to send you some of them. I know that a finish lab made similar compound and published them http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jm1008083?prevSearch=%255BContrib%253A%2BKeurulainen%255D&searchHistoryKey=

0 hits on SciFinder searching as is.

11 hits all from the same patent (http://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/biblio?DB=EPODOC&II=0&ND=3&adjacent=true&locale=en_EP&FT=D&date=20011011&CC=WO&NR=0174786A1&KC=A1) extending from the sulfonamide and with a nitro rather than the primary amine.

Synthetic approaches from the above reference would yield final compounds in 4-5 steps

@nicolaswlo If you are willing to share those structures, and if you have clearance to do so from the other people involved in the project, then of course that would be great. The Finnish paper you mentioned is a decent hit, but there is a significant degree of difference in that pyrimidine. We could always ask the group if they have structures they are willing to share, to see if the amine group is needed.

I know that the compounds of the Finnish have certain degree of difference (mine are similar). It's important to know if the amino is important. Concerning my compounds I am going to visit the lab where I made them in 10 days then I can have a proper chat about it (the only response I had what it's not interesting compounds which I am not agree)

@nicolaswlo thanks for this. It would be great if you can speak to the people in the lab where you made the compounds. Just lets be sure that they are happy to share this information (whether the results are positive or negative) before we put anything in the public domain. Cheers.
