Test for undefined variables about openscad HOT 3 CLOSED

i think that might work.

+1 Ahh, that makes sense. I figured since echo([an undefined arg]) returns "undef", there was actually an undef or null value. That's good enough for now.

Using an integer is also a decent solution:

module rounded_cylinder(h, r1, r2, r = -1) {
if (r > 0) {
cylinder(h=h, r=r);
}
else {
cylinder(h=h, r1=r1, r2=r2);
}
}

rounded_cylinder(10, 2, 3);
translate([10,0,0]) rounded_cylinder(10, 2, 3, 4);

PS. there is also the value "undef", but I would advise against it as it's not well specified and might not work well with boolean comparisons; module rounded_cylinder(h, r1, r2, r = undef) ...
