I'm not sure this is possible because we include Spegel by default which should be good enough for home use.

It is only about the fact that this can be configured in the talosconfig.

I understand but currently there is a conflict with Spegel in that you cannot have external mirrors (like you have in your code block) configured when Spegel is being used. You can only use Spegel OR external registry mirrors, not both. I included Spegel by default instead because it covers most usecases.

Thanks for bringing this up but I am going to close this issue, if there is anyways to make Spegel work with remote mirror registries in the future we can revisit this issue.
