Leave 2013 as a layer
Add new layer for 2014 so that folks can start adding events.

Created Gdoc for 2014 event tracking : https://docs.google.com/a/okfn.org/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgWnIWeQjA0AdFZlTnlKbTdQbDFHMVpROG9FUldXcVE&usp=drive_web#gid=0
Lat Long are preferred. Use the power of wikipedia if you need to:
eg. Toronto
Step 1: Search City : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto
Step 2: See information Side bar "Coordinates: 43°42′N 79°24′W"

I presume you're aware the map is live and linked on the site already ( http://opendataday.org/map/ )
But it's currently pretending to be loading, and failing with an error:
[Error] TypeError: 'undefined' is not an object (evaluating 'entry[_keyname].$t')
(anonymous function) (backend.gdocs.js, line 99)
tested in safari & chrome
