File Encoding Errors about enigma2-plugins HOT 13 CLOSED

@jbleyel, if you ever find any issues in my code or have suggestions to improve the code please let me know. I welcome constructive input from anyone. I am also happy to guide or assist is adapting the code to other images.

We use newer/different APIs so can't use OE-A's version.

Nobody wanted it and we're using the module instead of boxbranding and other checks.

I can not speak for PLI .. I'm using OpenATV because this is the only image with python3.

We asked all, in that thread @IanSav told us ATV is monitoring the thread also but so far I didn't see anything from ATV devs.

PLi isn't the upstream anymore, their codes are getting old and they don't care about python 3 or quallity (anymore).

There should be a place for all teams to talk but I guess there isn't any.

You can pull to OpenATV 7.0 if you want .. i have no problems with that.
But the changes should not break anything.

OpenATV is aware of most of the OpenVision improvements but they are waiting for the new openATV version 7.0 branch to settle down before looking at taking on the new code. While I am confident that it can all be made to work we don't want to expose openATV users to any potentially significant disruption.

Hi @IanSav , i'm monitor the OV improvements and use some in ATV 7.0. I'ts currently alpha/beta but we should always take care that the code is running. ;-)

I'll try to adapt your changes to ATV 7.0 but i't not so easy because some Screens are completely different.
I'm only working on ATV 7.0 .. we will let 6.4 as it is. (only maintenance) .. 6.5 is only for py3 testing
