I believe the ask is to support controlling what annotations applied to schema elements are returned from a $metadata request.

Closing the issue, rather than leaving it open/inactive, signals the opener of the issue that there has been no activity, nor is further activity anticipated in the near future.

Feel free to reopen the issue if it still valid and you believe it will have broader user impact. Without support from additional users, however, you should not expect to see a higher priority assigned to the issue.
