Hi,

I know that implementing spinners with Animated currently is not ideal because the animation runs in JavaScript which competes with other stuff like costly render() calls. The RN team plans on moving this to a native prioritized thread, but work hasn't started yet, but is so far the 4th most upvoted feature on Product Pains. It's no minor feature, but if you're up for a challenge your efforts will have the best effect to fix the problem at its roots.

If not, perhaps it'd be better to put that functionality in a more dedicated animation library such as react-native-animatable that this package then can leverage.
