#2 sounds good and I will add it.

#1 is working "as intended" or "as designed" (the worst phrase ever heard uttered by software users). Basically right now when MultiMiner detects that all pools are down for a coin configuration, it disables the coin configuration. This is the most straight-forward way to handle it from a coding perspective. A notification is generated (and optionally sent to smart phones via MobileMiner) and the coin is disabled, and MultiMiner will continue using enabled coin configurations.

However I totally understand that this means it is up to you, the user, to re-enable the coin configuration once pools are back up. Do you have a suggestion for a more automated way to handle this? Is the coin configuration only disabled for a period of time? Do I use a different "enabled / disabled" switch than the manual one found when you edit coin configurations?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this. This is basically a known limitation that was included for the sake of keeping the code-base simple while allowing for mining to continue when all pools are down for a coin.

Yeah I suppose it does work how it's intended. What about using a different "switch" that is reset once the miner stops? so if I send a "restart" command with MobileMiner, the coin is enabled again, and MultiMiner allows bfgminer to check the pools, and disables them if required again. Another more complex option would be to have it based on the coinchoose profitability. If a coin has been disabled by MM due to dead pools, but is still the most profitable coin that is set up, could MM be triggered to enable that coin when it parses the coinchoose API? Or maybe not every time, maybe once an hour, or something. This would keep automated rigs mostly automated.

I've added this to my list and will give it some thought. Once implemented I'll close this issue. Thanks!

This is addressed in 1.3.40 - the last enabled configuration will no longer be disabled.
