I have tested this with LG C9 and C1.

If g-sync is enabled and we choose any frequency bellow 50Hz, we lose image.

G-Sync is one of the features that are currently missing from the open kernel driver (reference).

On the closed driver it does what I have reported. Hopefully by calling someone attention the open source driver will have this issue fixed.

Hello @adolfotregosa , thank you for the report.

I understand the desire to call out issues where you know developers will see them, but the best way to report bugs in the proprietary driver is on the developer forums or via email to [email protected], as outlined in README.md. These are monitored by people who triage and fix these issues.

Engineers reading through issues here on github are mostly those that worked on the code published here, and as mentioned by StayBlueee above, G-SYNC is not currently supported.

G-Sync support with the open drivers should be in place as of release 535.43.02.
It kind of sounds, though, that @adolfotregosa was not complaining about the lack of support for G-Sync with the open drivers, but a bug in the G-Sync implementation.

Could you please retest and confirm if the problem is still present?

I have not tried 535.43.02 open gpu drivers but the closed beta driver 535.43.02 still shows black screen when frequency is bellow 50Hz so I presume the open gpu will be the same.

Test condicions -> LG C1 via hdmi 2.1 with G-Sync enabled. If I disable G-sync support on the TV and reboot the issue no longer happens.

Just tried out the open driver. Had to use NVreg_OpenRmEnableUnsupportedGpus=1 ( on an 3090 ?? ) for it to load and it's the same exact issue. Frequencies bellow 50Hz and image goes black if G-Sync is enabled ON THE TV. Under windows it works fine but I don't care about windows.
