Invisible text input field on new note about everpad HOT 7 OPEN

Trying to display the "Welcome to Evernote" default message raises the following errors, accompanied by the note window - or rather only its frame - flashing wierdly:

@oweise - can you re-test on the latest version? I think there might be a fix for this

Now on everpad 2.0.1-0~precise. The issue still is there BUT when I enlarge the note window the note input field appears, at least sometimes. This however does not seem to be directly dependent to a special size. When it appears I can make the window smaller without it immediately disappearing again. Only when it gets "too small" it is gone again.

This is quite strange. I also wonder what is so special about my setup that makes evernote behave that way. Fglrx? Multi-monitor? [Update: Retested with single monitor. Same result]
