I installed it on my G1 just fine. Try removing the old version first.

After first attempting to replace the 1.0 version, it is not there any longer,
so
there is nothing to uninstall. I have tried to restart the phone, but to no
avail. I
guess there are some leftovers from the 1.0 version preventing the install of
the new
version.

I don't have a G1 so I can't test the releases on it. I'll add Jeffrey onto
this to
see if the packaging process needs to be defined more clearly.

I can confirm that this does not successfully install.

Also doesn't install here. It claims to install but then the launch button is
greyed
out. Then it doesn't appear anywhere on my system, not even in the package
manager.

If you read the output carefully, you will see it says "install unsuccessful".
That
is why the launch button is greyed out and you cannot find an icon :)

Same error here. No reason for why it was unsuccessful either!

Looking forward to this build to have the ctrl key/esc functionality. Keep up
the
great work!

FWIW I was able to install it via the sdk (using adb -d install) after not
being able
to install it OTA.

Apparently you have to completely uninstall the previous version before
attempting to
install the new version. It's a problem with switching between certificates.

r61 and r62 both still don't install for me. How can I remove any leftovers of
the
1.0 version so that these installs will work?

A solution is to re-install the exact last version you had working (or at least
that you had installed). Then do
NOT do an upgrade. Rather, manually UNinstall what you just installed. Only
then can you do a fresh
installation.

moved some of these directions to frontpage to help new users, assuming its
resolved.

if you still /cant/ get the new versions, sadly the answer weve gotten from
google is
that you might need to factory reset your device.

all new svn versions are being signed with the same key, so this issue should
also
become less of a problem in the future.
