Shell=False problems on windows about envoy HOT 2 CLOSED

As for dir, I am not so sure it's supposed to work like this issue claims, since that is a shell builtin on windows, so shell=True is required.

However, this error (The system cannot find the file specified) can come up in many other situations. I wanted to run a program, whose path had spaces in it, and pass arguments. I had to create the following workaround, as per this issue: fabric/fabric#258

def run(command, *args, **kwargs):
    if sys.platform == 'win32':
        command = [command]
    r = envoy.run(command, *args, **kwargs)

I am not sure if I have just misunderstood something, but at least this works.

This project is in a bit of a crisis state — it's really useful, and I use it on a daily basis. However, I wrote it in a few afternoons several years ago and haven't touched it since. In order to get the project into a stable state I'm closing all issues and pull requests

Don't take this as aggressive — it's just necessary for the project to make any progress any time soon (it's pretty clear the project is effectively unmaintained at the moment). Great things to come! Please watch the GitHub logs and feel free to re-open this discussion soon. I just need to really it into a good state first.
