I investigated a little further: Indeed if multi-image segmentation is performed there is one bias/restore output per input. However, multiple image input is ignored unless "-S %d" matching the number of inputs is defined as well. If not, unnumbered bias/restore files are written.

So I guess this interface needs an overhaul. I wanted to do this, but then stumbled across a problem. Since the -S parameter is redundant with the number of inputs, or rather can be derived from it, it doesn't make sense to me to expose it. Is there a way to sneak in an additional parameter that depends on the number of input files?

I guess _format_arg might be a way to achieve this.
