Same thing here, but It only happens when the _site folder exists. When I delete the folder manually before starting jekyll serve it works.

I don't exactly remember what was the issue. but I think it was with this plugin, we couldn't put a resource folder beside post markdown file. But I made it possible with the PR I created.
