@MariusBluem More things to document about connecting macOS:
- It's crucial that
.well-knownis properly configured in the root of the domain. If Nextcloud is running on a dedicated domain likecloud.example.com/index.php, then it's automatically configured by the.htaccess(if running on apache). If Nextcloud is running in a subfolder,.well-knownneeds to be configured manually. - document advanced method if other approach fails: nextcloud/server#7519 (comment)
- macOS mojave no longer transmits user credentials via http. => CalDAV / CardDAV won't work if https is not used
- Self-signed certificates must be properly setup in the macOS keychain

I would like to volunteer to add a section on connecting address books via CardDAV in MacOS in the user manual. The Synchronizing with macOS page only discusses CalDAV, and to get it working myself, I have had to look at GitHub issues (specifically nextcloud/server#10318) to find the right settings.
