Hey, @unixfox. Netdata needs access to the K8s API server to collect container names and other metadata.
On a second machine, install k3s (kubernetes).
We expect Netdata to be installed inside the K8s cluster using netdata/helmchart. If you decided to do an out-of-cluster setup then:
- Netdata won't be able to resolve container names. That is expected.
- Or make sure that
netdatauser can locate and executekubectl. That is an alternative method to gather K8s metadata for containers for out-of-cluster setups.
