so driver.CallSync will be executed asynchronously?
If so there is no performance merit to do this as you suggested. Indeed, I found this go routing stuff don't improve
any performance.

driver.CallSync
calls f on the UI go-routine and blocks until it has completed.
This is exactly what you were doing by hand.

I see you're still using driver.Call
instead of driver.CallSync
, which could mean the ticker could run way ahead of the UI routine.
