Maybe it's a better idea to make the application portable? That could solve more potential issues.

I can provide zipped method, but you need to install the dependencies manually, which I can give in the readme file.

Yes, this sounds friendly enough for me. I've installed Microsoft SQL Compact 4.0 SP1 as was mentioned in the blog post and v1.0.1.0 worked just fine out of the [portable] folder.
So include the basic readme just in case, and it would pretty much solve the issue for me.
