I don't think this hook needs this, it should remain as simple as possible.
If you need this you should just use a "proper" bittorrent client or as you say webtorrent desktop (with mpv as an external player).

Fair enough, I'll still use this hook because of how simple it makes my setup.
If you were to add this feature how much would it complicate the code, as you'd have to make it interactive?
