That's an interesting question. It does sound different than what the Firefox Hardware Report is doing now.
I'm not sure how to visually present this. It sounds like there are two facets: the operating system and the geographic region. Is that correct?
If I'm understanding the problem correctly, I may want to ask Rebecca if there's a type of chart that can show two facets like this in a way that isn't confusing. Then we could have buttons to turn off certain operating systems, or certain regions, or both.

To be clear, this is different than #23. #23 is about showing/hiding related population lines with a button. This issue is about supporting charts with multiple variables. In this case: date, operating system, and geographic area.
