Working with returned error types proving difficult about mongojs HOT 3 CLOSED

I know that for my provided example String(err) gives me 'Error: failed to connect to [localhost:27017]' which is nice enough to work with. Still not sure whether there could be a nicer solution and also whether MongoJs shouldn't do this before calling back.

Not sure what you mean by converting errors to valid JS? All errors returned from MongoJS are instances of the general Javascript Error prototype. You can access err.message to get the message as a string.

Was trying to implement (winston) logging as so :

db.people.find({ 
    name : 'Peter Parker' 
},function(err, docs){
   if(err){ 
      log.error("Error getting the spider man.", err);
      return;
   }
   spiderBite(docs[0]);
}

The logger only accepted objects so it tripped me up :)

Ended up just wrapping mongojs and converting all err objects to {error : err.message} until I find a better solution to deal with db issues.
