Michael Davis's Projects

americanflag-in-r icon americanflag-in-r

For those interested in cobbling together an American Flag, using whatever media, you may need some help with getting dimensions right. It's NOT as easy as it looks. And the terms used to describe the flag can be very unfamiliar. SO, I wanted to make this easier. I'm learning the R Language right now and thought I'd start by writing it in that language. Then, hopefully, I'll port it to PHP, Python or some other language to make it more widely available. There are many sites with dimensions for the American Flag, but overall I liked this one the best: http://www.montney.com/flag/proportions.htm

There are very few applications for this. But, imagine that you are required to send emails out to some collections of non-persons to an email address that is legit but at which the email is automagically destroyed. I wrote up this little R function to be able to generate a name and an email address. Read the in-script comments for more info.
