This works simply if if keypath = splitPath.join() is changed to keypath = splitPath.join('.'). Otherwise join() puts a comma separator.

@aleemb Thanks for pointing this out. Keypaths definitely weren't intended to be rejoined with commas. Fixed in 0.3.8!

I'm curious how you were able to use this for nested elements. As isn't the keypath just put into this story['category.name']? As far as I can tell that still won't work.

@mcolyer, at least for Backbone with Nested Model extension, nested paths follow the syntax story.category.name
