sudo snap revert code --revision 160

from vscode.

chris-cooper avatar chris-cooper commented on June 29, 2024 1

I downloaded the April 2024 snap from here and then command line to remove the old and install this one. I had to manually remove some ~/snap/code subdirs but then it installed fine and performance was back to snappy.

Please revert to v1.89 or use debian package till this issue is fixed.
#212494 (comment)

Given the crashes on launch with the snap package for 1.90, it is recommended to revert to 1.89/snap revision 159 or to switch to debian package until #212494 gets a proper fix. The comments there suggest that some multi-monitor setups might not have observed the crashes with 1.90.

Same here on Ubuntu 22.04. Even scrolling is very slow and CPU usage is very high. Reverted the snap to v1.90.

Just update it vscode to 1.90.1 and has poor performance plus the laptop fan has ramp up. Gonna revert as suggested.
