@lszomoru Thank you for your message and for your suggestions for troubleshooting. I've taken your advice and ran git status from the terminal. It appears that the file does indeed show up as modified. This suggests that the issue may indeed be rooted in git or its configuration rather than specific to VS Code. I'll delve deeper into the git to understand why this is happening. Your assistance is greatly appreciated in pinpointing the source of the problem.

@tie-pilot-qxw, are you able to reproduce this in a simple git repository or this seem to be specific to one repository? What happens if you run git status from the terminal? VS Code renders the contents of the Source Control view by parsing the output of the git status command.

If this command returns the file as modified we have to understand why is that so, and that would be more of an issue related to git/git configuration rather than VS Code. Thank you!
