I'm interested in multi-schema use as well, but more as an all-schemas-in-the-workspace scenario.
I'm thinking something along the lines of Java packages, ie. src/schema1/functions, src/schema2/functions.

Yes, Run as Script command executes only to the DEV env configuration at the moment.
It would be nice to have support for different schemas, I agree, but I am not sure what exactly do you have in mind...
Is granting privileges to your current user not an option in your case?
Or maybe using multi-root (vcode workspace) project with different oradew folders - schema users?
