Are you using the SSDP Locator in the .Net assembly or the WinRT one?
The WinRT one has some alternatives for the multicast string commented out in code. Please check if that works for you.
When using WinRT, you also need to make sure you have the correct declared capabilities in your project manifest:

I was using the .NET one, I'll try the alternatives and report back.
Yeah you too, I was at the Xamarin party but I got there really late and got pulled into a lot of conversations so I didn't get to look for people :)
