Less files not recursively imported about less-rails HOT 2 CLOSED

I found my problem. I had two typos in my original issue. It should have read:

In main.css.less I have the line: @import "global.css";
In global.css.less I have the line: @import "variables"; (and several other imports).

The issue was that the "global" files was called global.css.less. Because I has the .css in the name of the global file, less was not importing styles properly but I wasn't noticing because sprockets took over or something. Regardless, changing the name of global.css.less to simply global.less fixed the issue.
