Code (validation errors) in: html/tables/assessment-finished/planets-data.html about learning-area HOT 3 CLOSED

So, the validator is complaining because the number of columns in the table is not the same as the number of columns defined in this markup:

      <colgroup>
        <col span="2">
        <col style="border: 2px solid black">
      </colgroup>

Here we have a total of three columns; a span of two and one styled with a border. If we do this, the warning goes away:

      <colgroup>
        <col span="2">
        <col style="border: 2px solid black">
        <col span="9">
      </colgroup>

I never thought to do this because it doesn't affect the functioning of the table at all; we don't want to do anything to the styling of columns 4-12! But you can do it if you are concerned about validation.
