https://www.sqlite.org/json1.html#jvalid

If either X or Y inputs to json_valid() are NULL, then the function returns NULL.

This behavior was changed in SQLite itself at some point. With the 3.34.1 CLI, I see:

sqlite> select json_valid(null);
0

With 3.46.0, I see:

sqlite> select json_valid(null);
NULL

Closing because there is nothing we can do about a breaking change in SQLite itself. If you feel strongly about it, please open an issue in the forum (but they are extremely unlikely to do anything about it).

@rittneje thanks for the quick answer, aligning the CLI and lib versions, the behaviour is now coherent between the two 🖖🏼
