These NetStreams can sometimes be tricky, try adding you own custom client via Param.CLIENT, make sure to add all the handlers. I am sure that all the NetStatusEvents will be delivered via the onNetStatus signal: https://github.com/Matan/AssetLoader/blob/master/src/org/assetloader/loaders/VideoLoader.as#L202 - expect NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound which gets converted into an error event.
I've built a little test app see what I can do, I've managed get NetStream.Buffer.Flush come through with no modification of the VideoLoader.
